Boise State is 2-0 but out of the BCS Title Race?

Monster Saturday: This past week of collegiate play may have stymied any future talks of a Boise State National championship. Coming off a knee-buckling loss to the Broncos monday night, Virginia Tech came out on Saturday afternoon for a "tune-up" or "automatic win" game versus the lowly James Madison Dukes.

The Hokies came out flat and were rudely embarrassed in the week's biggest upset.

This loss now hurts the Broncos full body of work, and in order to secure a BCS Bowl game, Boise State will need to crush their weaker WAC opponents. Although voters have stated that Boise has peaked in their standings as the #3 ranked team, I believe Boise will be done unjustly come season's end.

The scheduling of a high octane and season setting game against a solid Boise State team on a Monday night, followed by a Saturday afternoon game the ensuing weekend is absurd. It is absolutely absurd to think your team can recover from a stunning loss in which a number of players cramped up, and then go on to play the same Saturday. This season could have very well started off 2-0, barring a 2 minute drill ran to perfection by Broncos qb Kellen Moore.

Nevertheless an 0-2 start will remove all credibility of a high profile win for the Boise State Broncos. In order for the Broncos to even have a chance now at reaching the BCS Championship Game, Virginia Tech must win out and take the ACC crown.
