Welcome to The 3-4, a website dedicated to NFL analysis, predictions and recent events. We wrote 32 extensive team previews and will be writing about all things football throughout the year. We will be scouting players off game tape, evaluating them, predicting NFL and NCAA games, and much more! If you would like us to write about something in particular, let us know!

In addition, we recently began a feature called "Clip of the Day" where we will post a football video that true fans of the game will appreciate.

Clip of the Day 9/20/10 - Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE)

This clip is a bit more serious than our previous videos.  However, this is currently a very prominent issue in football at every level.  The story, done by ESPN, features Owen Thomas, formerly a defensive end at the University of Pennsylvania.  Owen committed suicide this Spring, and after extensive studies of his brain it was found that he had traces of CTE.  CTE is caused by repeated blows to the head.

Thomas was never diagnosed with a concussion.

I can only hope that football organizations continue to address the issues surrounding player safety.  I think the NFLPA should make this a priority during the CBA negotiations.  The NFL should allocate an increasing amount of money to research of head injuries.
