They will talk to everybody and likely find out even more than the handcuffed NCAA investigators. With that said, I am assuming the Vikings continue their drafting of high talent running qbs (joe webb and tavarris jackson) and take Newton because of his pure talent and dominance. Have you ever seen someone NEAR as dominant as this kid has been?

The counter argument against Newton regards his ability as a runner and how it doesnt translate to the next level. However, with the NFL's dynamics shifting towards increased pressure on the quarterback with the 3-4 scheme (haha our website's name), I feel it is imperative that every quarterback in the NFL has the ability to move around and "buy time in the pocket". Thats something both Newton and your boy Locker do very well, however Newton does it in ways I have never seen.

My deal with Locker is his lack of visible improvement this season and inconsistent footwork. Combine that with innate inaccuracy and ouch. Accuracy is something that cannot be taught, and even Sarkisian hasnt improved Locker's erratic passing. I love Locker's upside, as evidenced by the Seahawks taking him (he fits their west coast running style with Pete Carroll much better), however I feel Cam Newton would better aid the Vikings for the future. Both quarterbacks in my mind will succeed at the next level.

Ryan Mallet would be a solid fit for the vikes as well

Thanks again for the comment, come back next week and see if I change my mind hahaAlex Brownhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12321679638813839322[email protected]tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-939213994974468549.post-82800868004688079902010-12-13T23:52:23.492-05:002010-12-13T23:52:23.492-05:00With the controversy that Newton already has follo...With the controversy that Newton already has following him he just seems like another randy moss but instead a QB and the vikings i believe need a pocket passer that can run if the pocket collapses (kind of like Aaron Rogers) and the best resemblence to that i think would be Jake Locker. yes his numbers arent that great but then again he plays for washington...they suck. so i say with the numbers hes got i say thats making something out of nothing. My tied choice would be Ryan mallet, im not completely sure if hes a runner at all but with his arm and size id be happy with just a pocket passer.Anonymous[email protected]
